So, its a been a week and 3 days since i left the sunny region that is Wiltshire and so far the best way to describe my experience comes, like most things, from spaced.
"Its ups and downs Its ups and downs Its ups and downs Its ups and downs Its ups and downs Its ups and downs Its ups and downs"
4 weeks later (8th Nov) "Its ups and downs its ups and downs..." Though lately significantly more up. This blog may literally have taken the longest time of anything i have ever written.
So i guess i should talk about university for a bit, as you probably i know university screwed me over accommodation wise and i am currently living off campus with a bunch of post grads who i only experience brief chats with whilst cooking dinner and slightly more annoying social interactions at 4am through the medium of drum and bass when i have 9am lectures.
The main disadvantage is not getting a bus or trying to get home after a night out only to find that the last bus on Saturday was 2hrs ago. No the real problem comes from a lack of a kitchen. It is possible to make friends on your course and there are several people i would consider friends (well as much as you can in 6 weeks) but there always comes the point when everyone heads back to there halls and your left killing time or waiting for buses. This paragraph wasn't meant to be negative, its really not. I excepted these issues a while ago. And to be honest, i have never been that much of a party-er anyway so im not missing out hugely.
Right positive time, I picked up a new hobby. Originally, my plan was to start taking rugby a bit more seriously, but I basically gave this up when i saw the ridiculous training schedule and even more crazy tales of there socials. So in a brief moment of insanity/desire not to pay for gym membership i joined the rowing club.
Craziness yes, but tbh its pretty cool to do a sport Great Britain actually wins consistently at. Trainings not been too bad either, i know im starting from a fitness level of approximately zero but i now finally realise why people get addicted to exercise. Adrenalin is a fun drug.
Work wise, what i have learned is that you learn more in one tutorial than an entire three week lecture course.
Cutting this short because i really cant leave this post for another month and doing washing up after 2300 seems freakish to me.

time to organise my legions of followers, well legion, well leg ok all 12 of you. Friend of mine is heading off to Kenya for some time. Whilst he is gone is only method of contact is through a primitive electronic diary posted on the network of drum signals allowing the rest of the world to decode the beats and hence gain information.

Update
Brief note to say the last two days have made me very happy, unfortunatly both happy making things cost money money money, but luckily my parents paid said money money money.
Uni panics over as i now have a place to stay. This also allows me to finally get excited about uni again. Opportunity strikes, i can actual write about something vaguely like a diary entry.
So yesterday my dad and i drove two hours up to warwick to talk to the student union and some other places about where the fuck i was gonna stay in my first year. The actually university was completely pointless as the only guy assigned to help people in my situation was away that afternoon. Though it was nice to wander around the student union and properly imagine life there. So after running from cover to cover in the world shittiest thunderstorm with the worlds shittiest umbrella i couldnt use cause my dads head is far to big. We headed out to where i hoped to get a room in a houseshare.
Now the email warwick sent me said to not panic as there was plenty of student accommodation avaiable in the area. We went to two or three letting agents and out of all of them, they had about three properties left. Was kinda panicking then, but as one of the properties was fairly close by we went and had a look. It was then we experienced what my dad refers to as the luck of the Snowden, a force by which he lives his life by. I.E if you can be 5 mins late for any form of transportation, do it, then see what happens. Long story short the house was pretty much all i needed, good kitchen, reasonable bedroom, other tenents look pretty relaxed and friendly. Bad news is no ensuite means i have to walk up to the third floor to use the shower, but all in all, I lucked the fuck out.
Then the day after my new mac came, forget what i said early, nothing this shiny can be degrading or humiliating. Though it basically means i can now plug my iPhone/iTouch into my mac creating some sort of apple threesome which may or may not produce the anti christ.
Right back to waiting for my entire itunes library to transfer, its taking for fucking ages.

Limbo
Title is not my best, limbo is an adequate description of the position i am currently in. But then if there was a single word to describe this then there would be no point in writing this.
As we speak i am exactly 3 weeks away from my first day at university, what i should be doing at this point is getting very excited, using the magic of the web to be overly friendly to strangers who are going to the same uni, but instead I'm sitting, waiting to find out if i can actually stay anywhere near the university or whether I'm gonna have to stay in Coventry, which would suck, no offence Coventry Uni students (all one of you :), well apart from Clarkson, clever nickname isn't it?) but I was really looking forward to a campus uni, my sister can't stop raving about hers. And having to do the whole bus commute thing will suck.
To continue the "its nearly uni time" theme, has anyone elses parents/guardians/pets started behaving rather oddly. My mother in particular has been hilarious/irritating so far. First there was the whole, the cat is really gonna miss you, what ever will she do etc. When in reality my cat will undoubtedly be happier when she doesn't have to leave my bed to allow me to sleep occasionally. Rather more recently shes been buying stuff so i can eat. This in its self is not weird, but I'm pretty sure i have every possible piece of kitchen equipment from lemon zestor to that thing you use to disembowel shellfish. I don't even like much shell fish.
My dads method although slightly more cool because it involves technology is equally a wee bit over the top. I've had a desktop all my life and have been looking forward to getting a laptop for uni. So I had to make the choice everyone makes between being butt raped by bill gates and the other Microsoft henchmen of Dell and other things, or the slightly prettier and shinier with those awesome shops of theres where the border between customer/sales assistant and insufferable jackass is blurred. The ultimate comparison of mac and PC is far more like comparing escorts with street corner hookers, the escort maybe prettier but costs far more and is equally degrading. I'd go with Linux but i actually like talking to people and would like to carry on. Ye so i am now Steve jobs bitch, but he treats me well, buys me nice things and only beats me when i really deserve it.
OK wittered on there for a bit, so the weird thing my dad bought me is this pen with special paper. So when u right on it and press record (the record button is on the paper along with other features) what ever u write and say at the same time can be put on ur computer or played back on the pen. So say in a lecture you weren't sure what note u made was about, you look it up and here the exact words the lecturer used. Now it sounds cool and is really easy to use (you can also play the piano on it) but I'm gonna look fairly silly if my pen start talking out loud mid lecture
in a very strong American accent BTW.

Update
If you hadn't guessed by now, I'm not really a diary person, or at least not an interesting diary person. My type of diary tends to involve little to no personal pronouns etc. Hence why over time this blog (much like everyone elses) has become intermittent. I tend to only type when something significant happens and I'm sat at my computer (which rarely happens) and when I stay up late and enough shit has been piled on my lap that i have to shovel some of it into the receptacle that is the Internet.
So, last Thursday we all received our results. I am one of the worst people when it comes to receiving results. Mainly because i am one of those cunts who looks down when he gets AAAB. Don't judge me though, this is a case of nurture over nature. For you see, my mother did not have a great childhood, much like mine to be fair. She has a bad relationship with her sister and as a result attempts to compete with her over everything. I kid you not as a kid i was shown letters from my cousins (you know the people in your family the same age as you who can be great friends) and told how much better there handwriting was than mine. How much better the school they were going to was than mine. This has all come to a head in the last week. I needed AAB for my first choice and ABB for my second. I was really quite happy with either result as both unis are good. I ended up with ABBB 7 marks of an A in chem but royally ballsing up my other two subjects.
So having found out my results at school cause UCAS is a whore. I was all set to go out and get drunk enough to forget my inability to dance like anything other than a man jogging and flailing his arms. When i realise that having got into Warwick I should probably have applied for accommodation 3 months ago. Yea general fail (salute!). So i get home, do that go to say good bye to my mum and she says nothing, so i go have a cracking time, argue with a cab driver and fall asleep on a floor. I did not speak to my mum for 3 days. Aside from an email talking about how disappointed she was and how i was her last chance to prove that state schools weren't worse than private schools (basically that she was better than her sister.) Ye so at this point i have snapped. I was nervous about leaving home, mainly cause when people joke about parents staying together for the kids, i had to fake laughter because it has been freaking obvious for sometime that this is very much the situation my parents are in.
My parents haven't recently been fighting, there have been signs on both sides. The fact that my mum refuses to cook for dad or eat anything he cooks, that when we eat dinner (separately) she is either complaining about dad or my sister. That my dad has revealed it is likely he will probably be living for half a year every year in Singapore.
So that's where I am right now, largely pissed off, but suppressing it till i can fuck off to Uni and convince myself I'm capable of being an adult rather than a child in a child's room.
So with becoming an adult in mind heres a few things I don't tend to talk about
I play magic the gathering: Not a massive surprise for several people cause by now the majority of people i care about. Yes its extremely nerdy, but also extremely fun, yes it can get expensive and i would be at least £300 richer without this hobby burning a whole in my pocket, but its let me meet a few people and provided me with a game which takes a lot of thought and tactics and kicks the arse of playing shooting games all the time.
There is a girl that I like: This also is probably not a surprise, I am a man, I'm not gay, there are several girls in the area who are intelligent, attractive and might possibly like me. But due to crippling social insecurities it has been easier to accept loneliness over the risk of rejection.
The meaning of Life is 42: This should also not be a surprise to fans of Douglas Adams and is in here in an attempt to brighten up a blog full of sad thoughts and one nerdy collectible card game. It is also an attempt to use the chandler Bing method of ignoring difficult conversations
I am a virgin: This should not be a surprise (see There is a girl that I like)
I am running out of important things to admit: This is the meaning of life is 42 all over again, I'm attempting to use the chandler sandwich method of bad news.
Beginning to regret typing all this now, but who knows, I'm hopefully leaving in October, on campus accommodation or not. If this information in anyway makes you feel uncomfortable then ignore it/ forget it, I'd much rather have friends to talk to about anything.
Truth serum has faded now and all i remember is all the best bits involved frogs
If you can tell me where what that references i will happily give you my piece of the one true cross, to burn/revere or what ever you want.

Paper Towns
So i bought this book off amazon basically cause the guy who wrote it does these you tube videos that are thoroughly entertaining and nerdish, which is always good.
The Book came today and i have not put it down, 257/305 pages later, this is my new favourite book. OK American Gods, Shades of Grey, Nation and a bunch of others will probably recover there previous spots over time but ATM, this book hits home.
Some choice quotes will go here in 48 pages and however long it takes to skim through the whole book for said choice quotes.
Wish I'd had this idea at the start of the day, it most definitely would have been easier....
1:I saw your mom kiss you on the cheek this morning, and forgive me, but i swear to God I was like, man, I wish I was Q. And also, I wish my cheeks had penises.
2:ITS NOT MY FAULT MY PARENTS OWN THE WORLDS LARGEST COLLECTION OF BLACK SANTA'S!
3:"oh don't blame me," my dad said. "you're just sublimating your own frustration with my income."
"Isn't that snap analysis a tad passive-aggressive?" my mother asked
"Aren't rhetorical; accusations of passive aggression inherently passive aggressive?"
4: This is a long one
Do you guys remember that time when we were all definitely going to die and then Ben grabbed the steering wheel and dodged a ginormous freaking cow and spun the car like the teacups at Disney World and we didn't die?"
5:A little bit later
"let's play metaphysical I spy," Lacey says. "I spy with my little eye a hero's heart, a heart that beats not for itself but for all humanity."
"I'M NOT BEING MODEST. I JUST DIDN'T WANT TO DIE," Ben exclaims.
"Do you remember that one time, in the minivan, twenty minutes ago, that we somehow didn't die?"
6:"I think you should be official stuff namer."
Ye so i gave up this exercise about 50 pages from the beginning and 50 from the end. Turns out its hard to go through a book immediately after you've finished it? Also why do three of my favourite books involve guys trying to get wonderfully weird girls, who then get them and almost immediately lose them for reasons they fundamentally both agree with?
also, distraction! distraction!
from what you ask? If i tell you it wouldn't be a distraction!

I've never woken up remembering so much of a dream and being so pissed off. Even in my dreams I don't get the girl.

Concrete Jumble nothing in order!
As the hooter sounds on Austrailia vs South Africa with the wallabies coming out on top. I find myself actually really wanting Austrailia to win. Now considering im a wales fan and normally being a welsh fan results in being something like a monk. But no other team before wales, forsooth verily they are false prophets, Wales is omnipotent, omniscient, omnibenevolent, despite numerous historical evidence to the contrary. But Austrailia really look they just enjoy playing fun rugby.
Why am i writing this. Mainly because i am painfully aware i have nothing planned for the next four days. Three years ago this would not have bothered me, I was at a point in my life where i was unaware what having friends who didnt constantly shit on you (figuratively of course). All i really had to focus on was school. I never thought about friends or girlfriends cause all i had was work. In recent times i've had conversations with people who told me of drunken shinanigans at much younger ages. Considering the number of drunken shinanigans i had before i was 18 can be counted on one hand it makes me feel like i've missed out.
I guess having all this time without other people has made me feel more melancholy that usual cause since i turned 18 and especially since we broke up, i have had a really good time. Ok so one of the times i threw up, remembered very little of the night before and woke up in an incredibly uncomfortable position. But the most recent time (ty again by the way) I somehow drank the perfect amount where i was both loud and sociable but was still able to walk in a relatively straight line and help contain the wild scotsman.
In other news/on the lighter side cause lets face it, end of the news catchphrases are fun. You can now get some Ukele radiohead covers for cheap, worth getting imo.

best line ever! "Twinned with Guangxi Province in China! There's no province finer!"
So things looking up, attempting to grow up and can't stop singing Universal. Also can people stop going on holiday, if i can't stand more than 30mins with my family then you guys shouldn'y be able to either!

WTF mate
I have had literally nothing to do today. Thats gonna make it very difficult to write anything more than a paragraph.
I'm thinking of starting to go to the gym again, i kinda feel bad that my dad is currently paying a monthly fee that i haven't used in close to a year. And to be honest it would be nice to be fitter, i really would like to start playing rugby again at uni and i've always suffered, partly cause i am adequate at best, but also cause i am only at my adequate best for 10% of each game.
In order to further occupy time on this dull dull day, i have looked up the top 100 films as rated by the times, it is now my goal to work through all 100 minus one or two titanic like ones. Right now its eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, i have no idea what its about and i have read no reviews. Sounds like a good place to start. Ok im i having a small break to watch rugby highlights and i will most likely have a half an hour break cause megavideo is satans favourite video sharing website.
So far this movie is fitting right into my mood. Right up until the point where he actually takes a gamble and goes and meets a girl. Which i would really like to do.
Ok this movie just got interesting, i should probably focus on it. See you when i see you.

Invictus
So at the time of starting, it is 23:13.
I apologise for my unintentional absence from this fine website, but for reasons as non existent as god himself (just a test for that DM commenting dude) I just haven't felt like writing anything.
So last night was prom (for want of a better word). Which, i hope I'm not alone in thinking this, was a blast. Not only for the fun times had, but also for educational purposes. For example i now know that it takes four pints and a shot of Sambuca plus some peer pressure (the friendly nice kind of peer pressure) to actually dance and not feel like a twat. Although I'm almost certain i looked like one!
Furthermore i learnt that the aforementioned consumption of alcohol also causes me to enjoy music i would not normally touch with a ten foot pole that had been througouhgly disinfected. But chanting very loudly along to Vindaloo at the end was abso-fucking-lutely brilliant.
I have also learnt that drinking the aforementioned quantity of alcohol causes me to wax lyrical about a variety of sporting matters to an even more inebriated Northampton saints fan.
Currently watching Invictus and am pleasantly surprised by how they've captured rugby. Doesn't seem to match the intensity and the camera angles seem weird, but overall not too bad.
Any who, it is now 23:35 and i should probably go to sleep. Have fun!

Aural Sex Joke
Yea so i can't hear out of my right ear.
But unfortunately i have no sex related story to go with my problems.
its surprising how hearing less is far more irritating then being deafened by noise. Finally i understand the meaning of the phrase "The Silence is Deafening." Also i keep getting surprised by people. My House i fairly old so normally i can hear where everyone is purely based on there footsteps (I don't want to say I'm a ninja but...)
Update: For two hours last night i could properly hear again, then like a man thinking he'd hit the bottom of a pool of sinking sand, the layer of wax sealed over again making me constantly want to yawn. Or maybe that's a combination of refusing to go to bed before midnight and constantly reading textbooks.
So this is also my 150th post.
Musings on blogging so far. Despite not really knowing why i continue to post infrequent, random updates on things most people who read this blog either experienced themselves or heard about from friends. I do have one or two followers who i don't know directly, and to those people i say, "Seriously, why follow me." Probably out of politeness cause i follow them. But then its a whole chicken and egg thing and we all know how that turns out.
I did start following a new blog lately, bit hard to get into cause its been going for 300 odd posts now. But from what I've read its made me realise how accustomed i am to a society where religion isn't an issue for the most of the people most of the time. (OK there are some foreign policy issues and extremists and all that) But when you consider i went to a Church of England Primary School, said the lords prayer daily, attend christian holidays, its weird to think throughout the entire time I never felt religious. There was no pressure from teachers or parents. Maybe it helped that both my parents had been catholic at University before deconverting to a sort of semi spiritual state.
So in this new blog I read (Abandoning Eden if your interested) The blogger was former Orthodox Jew who due to the bloggers new lifestyle has now been seemingly rejected by her parents. At this point i start to think if we were made in God's image then way does he demand such inhuman behavior.
I'm gonna plug "Nation" by Terry Pratchett at this point. Nearly finished rereading it and I'm still getting the same impression as the first time. The book reminds me slightly of Lord of the Flies in that the characters seem to be archetypes rather than individuals.
right I'm off, feel free to comment. It makes me feel loved, well not love more sort of acceptance, well not acceptance, but respect, well not respect or acceptance or love. But i was never contractually obliged to sleep with visiting Japanese businessmen!
If u get the reference, I will love you for all time.

Last one out, turn off the lights.
Fantastic last day, easily my favourite. Mind you all that means is the yr 13 leavers day was 1st out of 3. And when u consider that i have no memory of my primary school leavers day the question becomes even more moot.
But nevertheless i had a great day. I had first period canceled, so i gave tutorial a miss and went to prepare my fantastic Rambo costume, OK so if I'm honest i had a women's vest from primark that i had hacked at randomly with some scissors then claimed i had been shot with a shotgun. However the look was only carried off if the holes lined up exactly with the blood splatter, so that wasn't fantastic. But what was good is that, unlike all the other times i've dressed outside of my normal range,i wasnt that self concious.
So that let me have a really good time, any lessons werent really lessons so most of my time was spent wandering the corridors being involved in waterfights and getting weird looks from inside class rooms. And has been mentioned in the blogosphere (hate that word) there was kidnappings and giant penii with encouraging words on.
The day didn't stop with the imaginary bell that we no longer have. Oh no indeed, went to a friends barbeque, ate surprisingly little, drank surprisingly more. Hasm't really sunken in yet that as much as i don't want to lose contact with the people who arent my closest friends, but are people i've got used to having around me, I will probably lose contact whether i want to or not.
I guess thats why i tried to hug pretty much everyone i saw when i left for home last night, or i could have just been drunk off my arse.
For those i didn't see last night, if i never see you again, 6th form has been the best two years of my life and its down to everyone in 6th form including the teachers who made it so.
Right, soppy emotional crap over with, time to enjoy the many rugby games on today and Doctor who a bit later on.
In the immortal words of Tom "WHAT DO YOU MEAN IM SPEAKING LOUDLY" Tebbat, "Cracking!"

Doctor Who and Nerimon
So this dude on YouTube called Nerimon reads this hitherto unknown book, its called twilight i think, whilst humorously commenting on it. I know most people here have seen it but for those who haven't check that dude out. TBH there is no point to that first bit, its more of an ugly segway. So in one of Nerimons videos he shows us this large cutout of Amy Pond (Doctor Who's new assistant non-awesome people. This is another dirty, dirty segway. In this video he voiced his approval of the new Amy Pond and the new Doctor who in general.
Now i will be the first to admit i was a massively worried that the new head writer Steven Moffat had picked an inexperienced shit doctor who would wreck the franchise. I was genuinely worried as, I really wanted Doctor who to succeed, its part of my childhood. Every Sunday before i went to play rugby i would have a bacon sandwich and watch 2 hrs of old doctor who, so it really matters to me that its good. I put up with and alright season 1 and 2, a good season 3 and a shocking season 4 and now i have been rewarded, as any loyal fan hopes to be, with an awesome season 5. Touch wood of course it could all horribly go wrong and I'm still in two minds about the new mini like darleks. But overall kick ass.
Also, Amy Pond is now awesome. I don't know if its the red hair, the Scottish accent or the apparent minimal effort she puts into appearing cool. Damn those casually cool fuckers. Sidenote: Do you ever feel like when you think your being cool theres someone watching you who thinks you look like an utter twat.
Other sidenote. You know those people who you want to impress, people you like etc. You may also know that around them you become incredibly self conscious of every act you make. As if the slightest incorrect head movement will result in them immediately rejecting you. Had a moment like that today, I keep thinking about it and flinching out of embarrassment.
Right that's enough confession for today, time to do a past paper and try and sleep before ambushing my Chemistry for Life Paper and doing dirty things to it.

Screamers
Wow your cool, by screaming no one can understand your lyrics and hence see what douches you all are.
If you hadn't guessed my brief skinny dip into the world of Heavy Metal has not done much to make me enjoy it more. Interesting thing i found though. if you block your ears you can actually hear the guitars more clearly and its not that bad.
Also for fans of Jack Whites many bands his latest one (The Dead Weather) have a new album out. First impressions (less than 10mins) feels more refined than the first album. Its also not as gloomy, but maybe the bright sunshine lighting up my chemistry mock paper for my first exam in 6 days is just making it seem that way. Because the thought of that first exam sure as hell isnt.
Final Thought: Just finished Portal and there is cake!

I guess
Yea so 8 days till first exam and I've become adicted to a new game. Ok so maybe thats a bit of an over reaction as ive barely played it for 5 mins but it is fricking awesome.
Whats the game you ask? Portal thats what. A game where you don't kill people! I know! I thought that was what gaming was about, genocide of countless faceless enemies. But apperently not.
So what else is new. Um started watching some anime. Ok so this was a while back but i watched some recently that brought it too my attention. The two i watch quite frequently are Akira and Ghost in the Shell. You should watch them, because otherwise bad things will happen.
I am finding it very hard to work lately, its really depressing how quickly 3 hours can pass by whilst absolutly no work is acheived. This will all change tomorrow. I have 2 frees and i intend to work in them. Albeit if i really wanted to force my self to work i could go into the library but the utter silence of the place just saps my will to live. Sometimes if i jam my earbuds in and play something kick ass (White Stripes) then i can do a ton of work in record time. So thats what i shall try, until someone even vaguely looks/talks in my direction at which point i will immediatly crave social contact like that bit in scrubs with the umming and the head to shoulder movement.
Yea i watch too much tv, or, maybe you dont watch enough. Did you think about that? You did? Yea it didnt make sense to me either.
In other news im gonna pretend to be a goth/emo kid and venture into the furnace. As my bleakest clothes are some jeans and my "Its a legitmate Statergy" T-shirt i may end up being stabbed.
My god have i really expressed my emotions and deeply held beliefs and secrets. I sure as hell havn't ignored any thing vaguely real and instead wittered on out nothing writing ridicoulous questions which just make me seem like a dick!

Blur
I think we all know who round here might just have the teensweensiest fanboy/girl attitude to Blur. But tbh I've never been sure whether i liked the or not.
But now I do, well more specifically Beetlebum. Anywho enjoy revision etc.

Suit Up
So, I realise the previous post was more of a random collection of thoughts I typed up in about 10Min's. I will attempt to make up for this.
So recently i have been singing along to songs in my car. I've also been smiling at points. I guess you could say I have been happier lately. Which is always nice. I guess you only realise how much of an impact a sunny day can have on your day to day life. When you look out a window and everything shines, even the slightest thing can make you chuckle. At the start of the school year everything seemed to be going wrong, A2 courses were much harder, I never felt on top of anything and I constantly felt down for no real reason. Albeit some of my negativity in the first part of the year could be put down to parental pressure and it does piss me off that I've been brought up to care way to much about grades. It got to the point where good marks weren't something to cheer about. Instead I felt a sense of relief that I hadn't failed. Now that is a terrible view to have on life.
If i were to label why i feel better now, it would be several things.
Rugby, Cardiff are winning now! Unbeaten in something like 10 games. Its a little to late in the season but its surprising how your outlook can change on work if you approach it having seen your team win.
Its nearly fucking over, Coursework is in, most of the course has been taught. And now theres only 6 exams left, that's less than a days work before I can relax without thinking how it will eat into my revision time!
So aside from a sunnier disposition, although i do still spend most mornings nearly half a sleep, what else is new? Friday night i swapped one nerdy habit for a slightly more energetic one. I'm gonna give you a clue....
thats right, Lazer tag is awesome! Especially once you start doing trick shots. Favourite of the night was behind the back. Also beat a Canadian at a game involving a puck. So score one for the British. Then there was some pubbing which is always fun. I also need to learn how to nurse a pint cause I keep drinking way to quickly, also i should eat before i go out. In other words I may have done my reputation as a lightweight no good by getting louder and louder as time went on.
Incidently lazer tag works as a nice segway to reveal that Neil Patrick Harris (How I met your Mother, Dr Horrible and probs some other stuff)is in the Time's Top 100 most influential people so yey for him.
http://www.time.com/time/specials/packages/article/0,28804,1984685_1984940_1985537,00.html
What else is happening then, since Friday I've slept, played games and pretended to work, what a facinating life I lead.
In other news good luck to those in the IB, try and survive, and please don't stand outside our exams rubbing your exam free faces against the glass. It would just be in poor taste.

Mumford and Sons
Dear Mumford and Sons
Why do i enjoy your music so much?
Should I enjoy your music as much?
Why are you distracting me from my history essay?
What would a penis exactly pi inches in length look like?
Where is the fountain of Youth?
This is not a question?
Only if this is not an answer?
What element has 67 protons and why is it like your mother?
Why did the chicken cross the road?
How do the Fast and furious movies continue to make money?
How long can I keep this up for?
Longer still?
Does this seem physically possible?
How longer will Waitrose sell 2 for £1.70 milkshake deals and when will they stock up on chocolate?
Was Elizabeths last period in power one of crisis and disalusionment?
Who will win the election?
Will Nick Griffins parents turn out to be black?
Did St George really kill the dragon or did the dragon take a dive?
Will Gavin Henson actually return to rugby?
When will Iron Man 2 out?
Will I ever have enough money to retire?
Will I ever "blank" a "blank"?
When will "blanks" be given equal "blanks"?
What does "blank" stand for?
If you were stranded on a desert island which celebrity who would you take to eat first?

Music Blog
Those who know me know the heavy stuff has never been my cup of tea, be it coffee, drugs, alcohol, porn or music. So my tastes tend to hover around the middle, a bit of the old white stripes, gorillaz, muse and a hell of a lot of oldies from Guns and Roses to Black Sabbath.
Why bring this up I here you ask? (Thats right rhetorical question man is back!)
Well its to plug more roosterteeth related things. Aside from the awesome t-shirt you may have seen me wearing, now i bring Trocadero.

Its the last day!
I will now rate the holiday in several categories
Fun Times: 7/10 Most of this comes from the trip with FOA which involved the awesome combination of nerd times and alcohol. Which i would thoroughly recommend, seriously its like poker and chess and passing out all in one! But other highlights include attending a birthday of someone i had never met before in a completely empty azuza, but was really an excuse to drink with Canadia and show of my inability to dance. Also, Kick ass KICKS ASS, yea ok obvious line, but it really does. Its just so violent. I mean they put a guy in a giant microwave for Christs sake. Also is the only film with Nicholas Cage in that I have actually liked. Other highlights was Canadias Goodbye barbeque, which was not much of a goodbye cause I saw her again before she left and due to a certain Icy Bastard is now trapped in the UK MUAHAHAHHAHAHA. But the barbeque was great, I didn't drink but that meant we could invent a new game for reckless teenagers. Its called, "Car Hide and Seek." Basic rules, five minutes to hide somewhere, phone the other team with some form of cryptic clue, (personal favourite form the night was "We're behind a White Van.")This was then followed by proper hide and seek, my personal favourite point was lying on my belly in the park with my hoodie pulled down only for Canadias insane giggling to give our position away!
Work Times: 6/10 I did what I had to do, but not what i wanted to. The problem i have is i appear to be a good worker. But as FOA will tell you i have the motivation of a sloth and not the massive ones from prehistoric times. So i split each day into 3rds and worked for 2 of them. In reality i worked for one 1/3rd, stared vacantly and the Internet for another and socialised twice at the movies.
New Times: 7/10 I totally drove to Llanalli and back. (BTW 1000 points to whoever knows how to pronounce that place name.) The thing about wales is 2/3rds of the country lives in the south, not half the country but literally in the bottom 1/4.But Cardiff and Newport where i mostly go are fairly anglicised. There aren't that many strong accents. But Llanalli, I can barely understand most people there and they have even less of a clue what I'm saying. But the whole driving thing was fun, except for the 50 zones which nearly caught me out twice, got quite into the whole overtaking thing during the trip. No more Mr "not breaking the speed limit" for this blogger.
So school is tomorrow and what will be most interesting for those who are so middle class they feel uncomfortable being on a bus with commoners, that they will drive a couple unnecessary miles, will be the traffic. Which should be fucking terrible.
I kid of course, I don't look down on the commons, but all bus drivers do seem to hate me for some reason....

New title cause its pretty good song and one follower said he/she would stop following me if i changed the title to this, but she doesnt seem to be on much so suck it, ill do what i want!

So....art
Well before you read this, if you have time, have a look at this.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00s01xm/Goldsmiths_But_Is_It_Art_Episode_1/
So the documentary is pretty interesting, for a couple reasons. Number one being the age difference. Two being the crazy Irish girl with masses of freckle and an addiction to theft! If you aren't as an effective procrastinator as me then you probably didn't finish the video, but seriously she is crazy. Not including being speckled with paint most of the time (is it wrong that it looks kinda hot),but also the fact that her end of year project was a stolen plant and the series of emails between her and the artist she stole the plant from!
So the end of the episode was there end of year thing where either someone bought there work and they were hired, or their work was thrown into a large skip. As you guys may know I'm a bit of a science freak. I'm hoping to do chemistry and have a degree that can put me in a lot of jobs for a further life time of work with no reasonable end in sight. I guess this attitude is why I don't understand art beyond panorama's. Most of my social life has felt like a constant guessing game. It still is in a lot of parts if I'm honest. I guess its why I like artist who paint whats there, i vaguely remember that guy who painted melting clocks and although that's not quite realism, it was the detail that i liked, nothing in the painting was just strange shapes. Everything had detail.
Its why I like science and maths especially, every makes sense, and everything can be explained by basic principles and you end up with a truly clear picture. But with people, no one can afford to be completely honest because either they don't feel they can, or they spent so much time behind a mask that they start to believe in that mask. Or maybe its just a fear that if they are completely honest, even if it opens up "exciting opportunities" then that just introduces new situations they are completely unfamiliar with and what fucking then I ask. Well they fuck it all up that's what.
Right, i have decided, I am too fucking pessimistic, but words are cheap and actions are tough.

Time flies....
when you spend it reading blog archives, not even gonna start on SMBx as will most likely take a decade lol.
back to history notes then i guess...
back to history notes then i guess...
It Begins! or the title ive used the most since i started this blog.
So i promised a catch up blog and here it is.
A couple weeks ago my mum and i had a massive fight, for which she apologised. But as parents feel its OK to lie to children, but not the other way around, it appears her apology was not genuine and she still thinks that i have to work 24/7 otherwise i will end up at tescos (her own words slightly adjusted). Then i went on a cracking holiday with foa which featured swimming, downpours, copious amounts of a certain nerdy habit and games of Irish snap in which bones were crushed. I come back having planned to work for 2/3rds of every day which can interchanged to give myself 2/3rds free on specific days where i can do fun things. But apparently a weekend break has consumed any right i have to free time.
example
me: "hey mum its ok if i come back around 10ish in the morning and work for the rest of the day."
mum: "my god saboo how dare you, you do realise since i can no longer live through your sister you are my only chance of achieving something! Your cousins are so much smarter than you, you cant let my sisters children beat you!
ok she didn't say that but that basically been her attitude since i showed the slightest hint of having a brain. At this point she decided i had to be the best at everything its possible to achieve in. When it became clear that i was not the new Einstein rather than accepting me for being fairly smart, a little socially inept and incredibly nerdy she decides that anything i don't achieve is down to me not "living to my full potential" and i by potential i do mean unreasonable demands most parents realise aren't achievable unless your less than 5ft tall and look as if you've never been outside (hint hint DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM).
So that's basically where i am right now. I've reached the point all children must reach where they finally realise that parents make for lousy parents if you know what i mean. Less is more and other pointless quotes.
However my cat still loves me, or at least misses her movable electric blanket. I kid you not she stalks me 90% of the time.
and i have been persuaded to get a Nintendo ds lite at last. The bill will be footed by selling my ipod to my mother of all people who luckily has become addicted to the thing. Tbh i don't want an ipod that has pride and prejudice on it!

I am back
And I had a very good time. A very much needed break before the final push. Which I should be starting now but am instead blogging in the one spot in my house that has limited signal. Hence this blog may be fairly short. Currently wathing BBC news as it's actually quite exciting. The queens in a helicopter! And they have now spent 20 mins describing every single tiny movement made. "uh yes the helicopter blades will have to stop before she gets out, and now the door is opening and it's closed again and now it's open and she is walking, yes walkin across the lawn." it's not quite walking on water but it's close. Right distraction over, will do proper catch up blog later, possibly.

That episode of the simpsons where homer climbs a mountain.
so weird title aside that i'm too lazy to explain properly. My life/school life is exactly like that point where he thinks he's made it but actually there's a hole other peak to climb. So next week I have to coursework deadlines to achieve. They will finally be over. One of the two I have technically been working on since the end of AS. So that will be nice WRONG! Just up ahead is the giant peak of revision followed by exams. Then there's uni, then I can finally rest WRONG. The great exam of life begins, there are no mocks here only pop quiz after pop quiz. Sigh.
But don't let my miserable rant get you down. Think of the parties and the rock music u kids are into. Tbh I think it will all be fine as long as I can stay in contact with at least some of the small number of associates and wellwishers I've amassed over the years. Lol night night.

But its cold out there!
Not anymore its not!
Jesus Christ I missed the sun. For some reason i get the urge to dance like snoopy when the sun shines. Shame i suck at the snoopy dance. Far more technical then it looks.

Mothers Day
Confession time, I may have possibly at some point fairly recently, forgotten my mums birthday. Hence Mothers day being an opportunity to make up for shitty behavior on my part. So on Thursday I brave what is essentially that planet in Avatar for me. Full of strange creatures covered in weird clothing and wearing those shoes that are rock hard plastic with drainage holes in. I was asked questions in which i understood the words but the arrangement and inherent meaning of the question confused and baffled me.
So basically i came out of the flahwer shoop having probably been swindled and with a promise of delivery on Saturday. Yep, how retarded is that? Any who, so they arrive this morning and i hand them to my mum and she says, "I bet yesterday you wouldn't have bought me those."
I bet your thinking, that's a weird response, what could she possibly have done that would make me not celebrate mothers day. Well Ill fucking tell you what.
So I picked up my results on Friday. Pretty much what I expected, will probably have to resit one module if i want to get the A in chem i need to go for Bristol. So after I phone in my results to mum expecting congrats with a bit of oh well resitting Inst too bad. Instead I get no praise. Apparently despite having no reason to resit maths i should to "guarantee" an A, apparently wanting to resit the easiest chem module rather than the hardest shows a poor attitude and a lack of knowledge of the subject. I was in a pretty cheerful mood before i rang home, so the sudden large amount of criticism headed my way got me pretty angry and I hung up the phone.
Next, I'm on my way downtown for a little costa sesh to relax a bit after a stressful day. My phone rings and its my mum again. Except when i answer she says, "can you hang up I want to leave a message." Bit confused i hang up the phone. When the message comes through its this massive diatribe something along the lines of blahblahblahpoorattitudeblahblahnotvnoxboxblahblahblahresultsverydispointingblahblah as well some bullshit about being predicted an A* in maths which was just fucking wrong.
Any who that is the situation that led up to today. Also Wales lost and Cardiff will probably lose tomorrow and as well i have to spend most if not all of tomorrow doing more fucking history.
I am not a happy bunny.

I really can't be pissed with thinking up a title.
Ha looks like i did anyway, god i'm awesome.
Any who brief note for those people who care (but probably already know but i haven't blogged for a while). There is a new gorilaz album on the 8th of March. Yey, although I'm not a big fan of "Stylo" but im sure the rest will be good.
Rightio, I am off to sleep now.
oh. Rereading American Gods by Niel Gaiman. Please read it, even if only to laugh at his name.

curse you trilogy
So I just finished "Shades of Grey" and coincidentally its ended exactly like the last book i read ended. Except with one fucking annoying twist. Its in three bloody parts. Sorry for the swearing but this is only slightly as irritating as the Eragon trilogy which on the last page revealed there was going to be a fourth in the series. FUCK YOU Christopher Paolini you overly nerdy lord of the ring copying shithead. Sorry again. Eragon is essential the male nerd equivalent of twilight, poorly written and very irritating at points with a terribly thought out back story ruining a traditional archetype. In other words eragon did for dragons what twilight did for vampires. And the lest said about the movie adaption the better.
Sorry again, I kind of went off on a tangent.
To some it up
read "Shades of Grey" By Jasper Fforde and then read "Nation" by Terry Pratchett, fairly similar ending if you know what i mean.

Book review
Considering that iam only 102 pages out of 400 or so in the book a review would seem fairly premature at this point. But, so far jasper Fforde's novel "shades of grey" has ticked all the boxes I look for in a good book. Firstly, a background that is dissimilar to our world yet takes the piss out of it so well at the same time. Secondly, characters that follow the first point.
Also the front cover is genius (well you kinda have to read the book first)

- Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone
OK my iPhone automatically adds this, I'm not deliberately rubbing it in peoples faces, although i may do that on Tuesday cause the case i got smells good in that new fake leather way. Although interestinly my iPhone can spell Fforde correctly but it flashes up as an error on the internet.

Goddam you chemistry teacher.
Seriously this guy is giving me way more grief than was really necessary. Because of the rushed nature of my practical, i was unable to check my results beyond one or two repeats. So now i have to fake some results in order to get a result even close to what i need. Now this isn't as evil as it may sound. My teacher actively gave me some past results for my GCSE Biology coursework.
So results fake, work done right? Wrong! Turns out faking results is fairly hard when u need to get averages to equal something without it being so blatantly obvious that it just looks stupid.
Oh well at least i can forget about it for now. Because tomorrow I'm off to Bristol for my (hopefully not) last uni visit. I got lucky with Southampton that there opinion of a an interview was a PowerPoint presentation, in which i came close to napping. Unfortunately the wording of the Bristol Visit day plan does not lend much confidence to me.
Ah well twill all be fine. The interview can't be that bad and it will be quite shameful if i can't use my Statistic maths module knowledge to bend the date to my every whim. And if that doesn't work then i can always eat so many panics i become clinical obese and so can live on disabilities for the rest of my life. Although that seems quite depressing.
I have already begun planning pancakes.
And last but not least, the great escape is an absolute classic. Decided to have an early night last night and ended up falling asleep at 1am after the classic ending.

- The basic: Sugar and lemon juice, classic and a great starter
- Banoffee: Toffee/maple syrup, Banana's and sugar
- Overkill: Chocolate sauce, Maple syrup, banana and sugar
- Plain: The name of this one is ironic as i put everything its possible to put on this pancake
- Double Pancake: Combine two of the above for extra sugary, non American style pancakes.
And last but not least, the great escape is an absolute classic. Decided to have an early night last night and ended up falling asleep at 1am after the classic ending.

!
Well that fucking made up for last week! (i will use a lot of exclamation marks)!
Thank god Wales finally stopped investigating the contents of there arse long enough to put 17 points on the Scots in 5 mins and come back from an 18-3 halftime deficit to win!!!
I shall have to have a pint of Brains at every game as it seems to be lucky! Oh well if this is to be the burden that i must suffer then i am quite willing to!

*cough cough*
So Wednesday is an interesting day, I have 4 lessons in the morning and relaxed afternoon. Although social studies is just plain tedious.
In the morning i just felt plain shit, made some kind of notes, attempted maths problems and repeatedly glanced at the clock. However social studies today was interested, for only one reason really.
Royalty is coming to St Johns, I don't know how many people I've talked to about this, but i have a massive, burning semi grotesque hatred for the Royal family. OK so maybe that's a slight over exaggeration, but nevertheless they provide an entirely pointless service that could easily be taken over via a combination of wax work dummies from that place i can't spell and i tape recorder strapped to said dummies back.
Continued from last night.
Recently just helped a friend to lie to a certain international body. What a rebel i am becoming, or as my new alter ego, "Senor Guitaro teachero" would say, "something in spanish."
Continued from last night. again!
Went on a history trip today. Which was far more fun than i anticipated. Firstly we went to the national archives where we got too look at 500 year old parchments and actually touch the damn things. Secondly we got to see Hampton Court and talk to a fantastic Mary Tudor (you know, the bloody one) impersonator. Had to learn how to bow properly first, which for some reason involved all the boys rolling up there trousers in order to imitate slightly hairier than usual leggings. Now when one bows to ones Queen one does not look ones queens in the face, not does one rise unless ones queen gives one permission to rise (who says one is the loneliest number). So when it came to the actually bow we were made to wait for some time before we could stand up. And in these situations as you should well know, the GIGGLE LOOP did come into play. So after this meeting with her majesty in which everyone suddenly lost the ability to speak. We got to talk to the actress minus the heavy dress and underneath she was totally naked. I kid of course, actually she wore a fairly awesome T'shirt explaining what the Flux Capacitor did.
Rightio that ends this blog and my friday night, i really need stuff to do when nerd club isnt on.
Damn you Alun Wyn Jones you triple breasted whore of eroticon 6
So hitchhikers jokes aside, hes never done this before. Ok i need to stop thinking about this.
So i went to Warwick today. Had a good time, followed on from the trend with Cardiff that absolutely no prospective student spoke and even if they were asked a question it took gentle nudging just to get a response without any personal pronouns.
But aside from that the place is really nice. Buildings are shit on the out side but brand new on the inside and its on a campus which helps me out cause i am shit in cities.
FUCK!
it was a very annoying defeat, ty NOT MY REAL NAME OMG for the dead weather. Have a feeling they could be my new radiohead. Keep meaning to increase my white stripe/raconteur collection. But dead weather may win with a member of queens of the stone age.

Bacolite
So i havnt posted for a bit. Mainly because all my time has been spent playing mass effect 2. I'm sure what few followers i have who arent nerds are now look up and to the right whilst whispering in a tired and dejected tone of voice "Video Games." So i must plead for you not too be so judgemental. Mass effect 2 is basically an interactive movie with just the right amount of nudity. A lot of games are called cinematic, most recently modern warfare 2, however this is closer to a shitty action movie staring the aging governator.
It is hard to describe what makes this game awesome, possibly because whilst many games offer supposed decision points very few offer the choice between brainwashing a large population of sentient robots and exterminating said large population of sentient robots.
So apart from that what else is going on. Tomorrow I'm going up to Warwick for an open day. Should be fun, although what will be more fun will be watching England vs Wales afterwards in the first round of the six nations. So all in all plenty to look forward too.

Charlie Brooker is seven kinds of awesome!
Which is more than 3 kinds of awesome.
So lets roughly go over whats happened in the last 17 days. Well the shit has hit the pan i can tell you that.
In the pit of monumental stupidity lies my chemistry teacher and his genius plan to consume all my free periods up to and including the actually day of the, in his own words, hardest chemistry module.
Also wallowing in the hole in the ground of idiocy lies which ever penis in the exams office thought we should do our mocks at the same time as most of us have actual exams that matter. Now i realise that some people didn't have any modules and therefore had no issues with this but to those people i will say this *$%£* you and that little dog too.
There is an upside, because of my chemistry exam this morning i now get to do my geography exam at home. Of course i was told to do it under exam conditions, of course I'm on no account to open it and look at the questions and i really shouldn't tell anyone whats inside because as my geography teacher told me, due to my inherent trustworthiness, if he can't trust me who can he trust!
As soon as this pressure cooker of a situation has ended i will be much, much happier. My February is looking up. I'm off to the north of England for two uni visits and to Bristol as well. Then the six nations starts up again. Incidentally this will be the first one i will get to drink at so yey for me.
In the more immediate future, I will finally get to play mass effect 2 after what seems like a year of waiting. And more importantly you get to bone more aliens/ tattooed crazy bald bitches with telekinetic powers. Also theres something about a plot and graphics and intuitive shooting action but that's beside the point.
so with that brief update over with and the 17 day silence ended i leave you with this.....

"Can he walk at all, or if he moves will he fall?"
I have a very addictive personality. If i get into some thing i go kinda bat shit cracy for while. The latest is ginger beer. I first had this awesome substance when i was a kid and my dad was in his DIY phase, (many slightly wobbily furniture survives from this period) and i would "help" by sitting on a stool and drinking ginger beer. I suppose my current situation can also be put squarely at his door. He bought me six cans on friday when he braved the blizzard for only the bare essentials. Then when i asked some more he brings me 18 cans. 9 of which ive drunk since he bought them. I didnt sleep until 2am last night. Albeit i had just been playing cod and decided to watch a movie but i personally blame the ginger beer. On the lighter side the ginger has considerably helped my digestion, at the expense of my breath. LOL.
Exams start up again soon and it looks like even if we have to rope together all the dogs in the village inorder to get there we will have to. To be honest im pretty glad we have to, i was looking forward to only having 1/3rd of my maths course left and half my chem course. Leaving me with more time to spend realising how much of my history coursework is bullshit and watching you tube vids whilst pretending to do my homework.
In other news press shift five times, did that sticky key thing come up. Irritating isnt it/well screw you mister fancy mac user with your clever design and simplistic control system, your still a giant vaginal douche on the bathroom floor of the human race. (The ipods pretty good though)
In other other news;
For fans of highpitched music, check out the alvin and the chipmonks soundtrack. All those songs that are constantly played, that apperently people like are shown as they truly are. Tiny irritating rodents!

Like Hey Guys
While i sit here bopping my head in a definatly uncool manner to Foo Fighters, I look back on the year that was and attempt to describe it with as many irritatingly general phrases as possible.
Ok so having tried and failed to sum up the year, I shall have to move onto something else.
So were back at school after a staggerlingly boring holiday and once again every is exactly the same. I used to get irritated that as i got older it seemed like time was speeding up. I remember in primary school every felt like it took forever. However now having time speeding up is a good thing, it helps the days go by.
Exams are less than a month away, I'm kinda lucky in that i only have three exams with a week inbetween each one. But that won't stop me shitting myself, so inbetween dashing to the toilet you will probably find myself sat witha revision guide pretending to work but actually just turning pages at random intervals.
After the exams things dont get easier, well slightly easier. I have 3 informal interviews to attend at Southampton, Bristol and Wawrick. I'm looking forward to Wawrick and Southampton as I've yet go there. Still nothing from Durham yet, but i will only give up hope after the UCAS deadline.
Um what else, Oh yea, I'm currently waiting for a kick ass tee-shirt to come from america, check this mother out.

thats right, you know the ladies be wanting this all up in grizzle.
Ok i have no idea what i just said
I'm sorry, never again will i attempt to be cool.
Enjoy school people.
